The Coast to Coast Connector (C2C) in Central Florida is an exciting new trail system through the heart of Florida, from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean. More than 80% of the trail has been completed, and YOU can ride the best sections of it now!
Our Best of Central Florida package allows you to ride the most scenic, most beautiful sections of the C2C. Enjoy a relaxed bike vacation on paved bike trails as we shuttle you to the West Orange trail, the Seminole Wekiva trail, and the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail. This itinerary is truly for the cyclist who loves to “stop and smell the roses.”
DAY 1. SEMINOLE WEKIVA TRAIL (up to 14 Mi.)
Welcome to Central Florida! Let us transfer you from St. Pete/Tampa to your pretrip accommodation just north of Orlando. Get ready to ride the next morning.
Begin your trip riding the suburban Seminole Wekiva Trail. The trail has been designated as one of Seminole County’s Showcase Trails because of its beauty and accommodations. It is built on the alignment of the former Orange Belt Railway and its gentle grade allows for a easy day of cycling. Look for the painted fences along trail, spend lunch at a trailside restaurant, and end the day with a quick shuttle ride to your hotel in Winter Garden.
Meals: On own
Overnight: Historic Edgewater Hotel, Winter Garden
DAY 2. WEST ORANGE TRAIL (10-30+ Mi.)
The West Orange Trail has been showcasing Central Florida for more than two decades. It passes through the town of Winter Garden which has grown to cater to the cycling crowd.
We suggest a 30-mile route that highlights the central portions of the trail, but if you’d like to stretch your legs a bit, ambitious cyclists can easily expand their day to 40+ miles of riding. On the other hand, if you’d like to spend time seeing the Oakland Nature Preserve or relaxing around town, you can ride fewer miles.
Overnight: Historic Edgewater Hotel, Winter Garden
DAY 3. PINELLAS TRAIL – NORTH (28 Mi.)
The Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail runs from Tarpon Springs to St. Petersburg, Florida. This morning you’ll be shuttled to the John Chestnut Senior Park and start biking on the Pinellas Loop. Around midday you’ll pass through Tarpon Springs, a great small town to stop and have lunch, visit the historic sponge docks, and maybe grab a Greek pastry or two to fuel your afternoon ride. End the day in the exciting trail town of Dunedin. A side trip to Honeymoon Island State Park is a must this afternoon for devoted nature lovers.
Overnight: Holiday Inn Express North Clearwater/Dunedin
DAY 4. PINELLAS TRAIL – SOUTH (25 Mi.)
After an evening in Dunedin, this morning is your last day on the Pinellas Trail, one of Florida’s most popular and well-loved multi-purpose trails. Take a side trip to Clearwater Beach for some incredible views of the gulf and a short ride on the beachfront bike trail. After Clearwater continue along the trail and end your trip in St. Petersburg, with an overnight already included. Relax at the bayfront and toast the completion of a fabulous bike trip.

Luggage should weigh no more than 40 lbs per person. Odd-sized and/or bulky pieces such as bike stands, coolers, or bike racks are not permitted.
You will be directed each morning where to bring your luggage – typically to the front desk or B&B common area. The luggage will not be accessible during the day, so you will need to have with you anything you require including cameras, change of clothes (if swimming/rafting), and food. Most B&Bs/hotels do not allow check in before 4 p.m.
Our trail season runs through late fall and late winter – excluding holidays. Trips can be reserved between mid-October to early December, and then between late February to early April.
We choose to limit our this trip to months when weather should be mild to warm, however, it is always a good idea to be prepared for all types of weather. The average expected temperatures are generally in the upper 60s-70s at this time of year, cooling off in the evenings.
Our Coast to Coast Connector – Best of Central Florida tours start just north of Orlando in Lake Mary – on the Seminole Wekiva Trail. If flying into Orlando airport, a shuttle and hotel can be added in Lake Mary before Day 1.
There is a shuttle the morning of Day 3 to transport you from Winter Garden to the Pinellas Trail on the west coast of Florida.
This trip ends in St. Petersburg, Florida with an option to extended your overnight stay there.
The Coast to Coast Connector is a paved trail and suitable for most bikes.
Our trips are designed to be a vacation, and not a race. We create our itineraries with an expected speed averaging 6-9 miles/hour throughout the day. While it’s certainly possible to ride faster, the goal of our trips is to let you enjoy your ride; explore the towns or parks off the trail; maybe stop and have a snack along the trail. These are social trails that allow ample time to visit with fellow riders and take it slow.
Bike rentals can be included for $99/ bike (hybrid) or $149/bike (road) and are delivered with your shuttle on Day 1. Bikes can be dropped off in St Petersburg for an added fee of $75/bike*.
*Drop off fee can be subject to change – request a quote to confirm pricing.
E-bikes are not currently available for rental on this trip.
If you can box and rebuild your bike on your own, and if you have good bike cases for shipping, BikeFlights or another shipping method can be much cheaper than renting a bike. If you need help boxing and rebuilding a shipped bike, we can direct you to bike shops along the trails which can assist you for a fee (usually $40-75/bikes).
My husband and I had a great trip! Bruce from bike rental place was very informative and pleasant. Everything was great. I left a review on Trip Advisor. Thanks. I think you do a great job!
